Working in Independent Schools
Teachers are drawn to work in independent schools because of the autonomy they have together with members of their departments to craft courses and instruction exactly as they think best, the support they receive from administrators and colleagues, and the high quality of the relationships they are able to have with students. For these reasons teachers in independent schools have a high level of satisfaction and a high level of responsibility in shaping the culture of a school and the content of its curriculum. Independent school teachers work very hard but stay in the field because the personal and professional rewards are correspondingly great. |

Each new teacher’s department head serves as support for all things related to the class room and Division Directors observe and meet with new teachers as well. Because of our size, new teachers gain responsibility quickly and are fully integrated into the faculty from the very first day. |
