North Cross School welcomed members of the 2008 VISAA State Football Championship team during Homecoming weekend! They were recognized for the 10th anniversary of their championship win against Blessed Sacrament Huguenot. The following alumni from the team were present: 1. Alex Cecil' 09

Paul Smith '12 The 2008 team was led by Head Coach Lee Johnson and Assistant Coaches Tim Seeley, Jimmy Fisher, Greg Meacham, John Hinkle, and Jax Ring. North Cross lost their 2008 season home opener to the Knights of Blessed Sacrament Huguenot, 17-7. The Raiders were ready for the rematch on November 14, 2008 on the Knights’ home field for the state title game. Going into halftime, the Raiders were down 6-0, but came back strong in the second half. Ted Robison '09 shared that his most memorable moment of the game came when the Raiders called a fake punt on a fourth down late in the fourth quarter with the score 14-6, North Cross. Following that play, the Raiders drove for long touchdown run that sealed the 21-6 victory and an 11-1 record for the season. This win was the first state championship for Raider football since the 1993 season and we were honored to have them back for Homecoming.
