Gregory Kwaczala (Sides) '06 was recently promoted to Vice President of Strategy, Equity and Advancement at Youth Research Incorporated (YRI). YRI is the affiliate nonprofit of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. In his new role as Vice President, Greg will be responsible for further developing the agency's theory of change model, advancing our commitment as an anti-racist agency that centers equity in our work, and ensuring that the children and families in New York are supported by a child and family well being system that offers opportunity, autonomy and possibility. Susan Anderson Card '76 (NGA) received this year's Alumni Service Award during the Commencement ceremony on May 25, 2019. She was recognized for all her volunteer work at the school including serving as Vice Chair and Chair of Field Day, Mosaic Online Auction, the Gala, Vice President and President of the Parents' Association, and most recently as an advisor for the Upper School SCA. Her niece and Alumni Board Member Alexandra Martin '12 presented her with the award.
Ms. Martin remarked: North Cross is not just a school, but a thriving small community. It’s parents like Mrs. Card, along with the faculty and staff, that make the students’ experience so special here. Volunteering can be a thankless job, so on behalf of the Alumni Association, we thank you and we appreciate you. Congratulations to this year’s recipient of the Alumni Service Award, my aunt, Susan Card. |
