We just completed testing 591 students, faculty, and staff and received the results within 24 hours. We had two students and one staff member test positive. The students, one in eighth grade and one in tenth grade, have both been notified and contact tracing has taken place. The positive students will isolate for 14 days. The staff member had previously tested positive but had once again become symptomatic and had been at home before testing.
With a positivity rate of .5%, this is an indication that we will not need to go to a week of virtual instruction after our long spring weekend in early April. Obviously, we will continue to watch our test results in two weeks as further indication of our course of action. Please continue to mask, socially distance, and when available, please sign up for the vaccine. I am confident that with your care, we will finish this year safely and next school year will bring normality.
