We received our results from the most recent round of school wide testing. Out of 585 tests, we had four positive results for students and one positive for a volunteer coach. All that tested positive will isolate for 14 days. We conducted contact tracing and all those that were in close contact will quarantine until they can be retested next Thursday before beginning spring break. The students were in Mrs. Hagan’s JK3 class, sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade. There were no connections between the middle schoolers that would indicate on-campus spread. JK3 is obviously a more difficult mask wearing environment than most but this student was among the most diligent in mask wearing.
With a positivity rate of less than 1%, we are well below the state average of 8.9%. While on break, please continue to use masks, socially distance, and avoid crowds and public indoors spaces as much as possible. We will spend the week after break in virtual learning and will test the entire campus on Thursday, March 11. Thank you for all of your efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID.
