I hope you had a chance to read the notes from the PA meeting before Thanksgiving in Crossties. "We are solidly in the planning and preparation phase of the Capital Campaign and I'm thrilled to report that Russ Ellett and Eddie Smith have agreed to serve as Co-chairs for the effort. Russ and Eddie are passionate about the promising future of our school and we are fortunate to have their leadership." Deborah Jessee has agreed to be our Family Gifts Division Faculty and Staff chair, and has recruited 10 group leaders to lead the faculty staff campaign in January after we get back: Tracy Schaefer, Sandy Patterson, Zack DeMoss, Jimmie Donnini, Emily Brown, Chris Brandon, Amy Holley, Josh Kier, Allison Vagts, and Carolyn Phillips. As Deborah said,” I’m very excited about this campaign and our gifts are a way of expressing gratitude to our community whose gifts will make this campaign a reality.” Thank you Deborah, and thank you to all our faculty and staff who agreed to be leaders in this campaign.
The co-chairs are working with our Trustees to secure their pledges and gifts and this will continue through February as we formalize building plans and continue building our campaign structure. I have been moved by the excitement and generosity of some of our initial donors and their willingness to support North Cross with their time and talent. There is a seriousness of purpose I believe these future capital improvements will add to our School and reflect to our students. We hired Balzer and Associates on December 1 and they went right to work to do the Schematic Design phase which we hope to have completed by Mid-March. They recently met with Faculty and Staff to discuss renovations, concepts, and needs in the Library, Fishburn Auditorium, Learning Center and CrossWalk, and the Upper School. We had our SCA officers present discussing their vision of the new Student Center along with the faculty. We are all very excited about these conversations and this transformational project for our School. Happy Holidays, Chris Proctor
