Christian J. Proctor, PhD has announced that he will step down as Head of School on June 30, 2022 after 11 years at North Cross School. Since 2011, Chris has worked tirelessly to elevate and position North Cross in a fantastic place. With the recent completion of a transformative campus project, record enrollment, strong financial footing, international operations as alternative revenue, and robust academic, arts and athletics, North Cross will be sure to attract top talent as our next Head of School. Chris, Ellie, their children, and especially Raider, will be missed by all as they move back to Charleston.
After interviewing several nationally recognized educational search firms, our Search Committee engaged The Education Group (TEG). We were impressed by TEG’s knowledge of North Cross, our region and their experience in recent head of school searches. Katherine Stuart, President of TEG, Neil Mufson, and Dave Davies will be the lead consultants. Katherine has led many searches since taking over as President. Dave and Neil are former independent school heads.
Over the next few weeks and months, TEG will be engaging with and surveying the Board and all North Cross constituencies to fully understand our school and community. Our search committee will then work with them to develop a school and position profile to help promote this opportunity nationally. During the search, we will keep the community apprised of our progress and ask for its feedback several times.
