Support North Cross School
The Development Office has two primary roles: Institutional Advancement and Fundraising
The tuition and fees parents pay do not cover the full cost of educating each student, nor do they cover the full cost to run the school. Keeping tuition affordable to a greater number of families is strategically important. We must have enough students to support a robust set of programs and we believe we are better when our student body maintains a diverse set of high-achieving individuals. The school depends on non-tuition revenues for support of its budget.
Some non-tuition revenues directed to our operating budget come from renting our facilities - CAC memberships, CCA Marlins Swim Team, summer programs, and rentals of our gyms. These are important revenues for the school and do support its operations.
The lion’s share, however, of non-tuition revenues that support North Cross School’s operations comes primarily from the efforts of the Development Office, which is tasked with raising almost half of the 20% gap through charitable gifts and special events. Its annual fundraising goal this year is $475,000.
The Development Office’s financial role is to help close the 9% gap between tuition and fees and the cost to operate the school and provide the breadth and depth of the North Cross educational experience. This includes such things as faculty/staff compensation, supplies, utilities, insurance, and facility maintenance and North Cross’ fiscal year runs from July 1st through June 30th each year.
Fundraising to “bridge the gap”
There are three main fundraisers handled by the Development Office:
Leadership Giving and Recognition
North Cross recognizes people who make Annual Fund gifts exceeding $1,000 as “Leadership” givers because, by making such generous gifts these individuals and families have chosen a visible way to demonstrate their support of the school. By their example, leadership givers set a path for others to follow. Every gift to the North Cross Annual Fund is both important and appreciated and the gifts from our leadership corps lead the charge to make sure the revenues necessary to run our school are provided.
Each year we recognize all our donors by publishing their names in our annual publication of the Honor Roll of Giving, and Leadership donors are recognized at a Leadership reception held at the Headmaster’s residence in the Spring.
Club 44 is a great place for those who have not given in the past to get started and to encourage our newly graduated and newly employed alumni to support North Cross and give a “thank you gift” to acknowledge the part our school played in their development.
As many might recall, those early days after graduation from North Cross or from college are often marked by limited incomes and tight budgets. To help our young alums and young professionals, we have developed an easier way to give, and for those who have never given to the North Cross Annual Fund to get started.
With our online installment gifting option, , anyone can give as little as $4 a month - or more - without breaking a budget. Think about it - $4 a month is 2 less cups of coffee or half a movie ticket - affordable and a real help to others. Over a year, your $4 accumulates to a $48 annual gift - significant support to North Cross’ educational mission and its commitment to a balanced budget.
If you care about North Cross and wish to support its ongoing mission, get started now and join the ‘44 Club. Click the “Online Giving” button below to quickly set up your installment giving on our North Cross website.
