On February 10-11, seven Upper School choral students attended the High School All-District Choir in Danville, Virginia at George Washington High School. After two long days of continuous rehearsal they performed, in their perspective choirs, for their parents. The students had the opportunity to work with two prolific choral conductors, Dr. Stephen Sieck of Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin and Michael Ehrlich of Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia. The students who attended this event were: Makayla Bibby, Olivia Bloch, Isa Kevorkian, Claudia Morgan, Victoria Riego de Dios, Jacob Wadstrom, and Lucy Yi.
Middle School All-District Chorus
This Saturday, March 4, ten Middle School choral students will attend the Middle School All-District Chorus event in Lynchburg, Virginia at Liberty Christian Academy. The students will rehearse all day on Saturday until the time of their performance at 5pm. If you would like to attend the concert, it is recommended to arrive 30 minutes before the performance. The students who will attend this event are: Lea Almahameed, Dayanna Anderson-Pryce, Mariah Eakin, Amaria Ford, Alexis Ford, Will Hoff, Ryan Huddleston, Ivy Mitchell, Adoria Sanders, and Meredith Winn.
This year, two middle school choral students auditioned and were selected to rehearse and perform with the American Choral Directors Association’s Middle School All-Virginia Chorus. Mariah Eakin and Ryan Huddleston will perform in Blacksburg, Virginia at the Moss Arts Center of Virginia Tech on April 29. This is a such a prestigious honor, and we are very proud of their success.
Aida, School Edition
The Fine Arts Department of North Cross School is excited to present their production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s rock and pop musical, Aida: School Edition on April 21 and 22 at 7pm in the Fishburn Auditorium. Don’t miss your chance to see this “timeless love story.”
