Members of the immediate and extended North Cross Community came together on a chilly Saturday morning for one purpose: to conquer the Middle School Hill and have as much fun doing it as possible. PA President Marlo Pearson, PA Rep Cheryl Glose, and countless parent volunteers helped plan, organize and execute this amazing, health, ridiculously challenging yet fun community event. The race was chip timed by Run Roanoke, and as 97 runners got ready, they were pumped up by Disco music from the Studio540 tent, complete with gala committee chair Kelly Kemper and committee member Jill Woltz, as well as Board Vice Chair Fourd Kemper in complete 70s disco attire. After the run, whose overall winner in the male category was senior Chester Pruitt and in the female, a much younger fifth-grader Kerrigan Chaney, runners were treated to fresh baked bread and jams, bagels donated by Bread Craft, fruit, and (of course) lots of water. Once the results were compiled, medals were awarded in different age categories. Thanks to the PA and all of the race's generous sponsors for a great run!
