While the lower school musical will not grace the stage in Fishburn Auditorium for another nine weeks, the cast and crew of Cinderella has been hard at work getting ready for the new production. The lower school musical is a new offering from the Fine Arts department and provides our younger students the chance to participate in musical theatre. Three times each week, the members rehearse after school under the direction of theatre veteran Anna McLaughlin (in photo) mother of Tim ’20, Veronika ’25, and Brittney ’25. While directing a cast with lower school students may be new to her, Anna has an extensive background in theatre that spans national touring companies and working with a world-renowned tenor.
Anna loves working with the thirty students each week and they have surprised her quite a bit. “The group has such energy, determination, and team work!”, she said. Her biggest challenge? “Keeping thirty energetic students focused!”
The lower school production of Cinderella will take place in Fishburn Auditorium Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21. Showtime is 7 p.m. for both shows.
