Last week, new members of the Lower School Spanish Society were welcomed into North Cross's "¡Viva el Español!" Chapter at an induction ceremony. This chapter was opened in 2013 by Mariana Hermosilla and all students in the 5th grade are invited to participate in it. This year, there are 30 members who will be conducting activities in the areas of ambassadorship, service to school, and service to the community.
The Lower School Spanish Society is the starting point for students who want to work towards earning the credit and experience for becoming members of the Upper School Honor Spanish Society, "Flor the Maga", under the leadership of Mrs. Plaski. This is usually a requirement for students who want to be advanced learners in their studies of Hispanic culture.
Congratulations to the Lower School Spanish Society's new inductees on this well-deserved honor.
