October 27, 2015 (ROANOKE, VA)—On October 21-23, North Cross School welcomed Jean-Michel Habineza and the iDebate Rwanda team for two days of global studies programs on campus.
iDebate Rwanda set up residency at North Cross to teach debate skills and the history of Rwanda. They conducted workshops, demonstrated debate, and helped students learn how Rwanda, in only one generation, has gone from a place of genocide to being described as the best place to do business in Africa. The interaction that students had with the iDebate Rwanda team was designed to help with critical thinking, problem solving and public speaking skills, and community leadership.
Jean-Michel Habineza serves as the International Coordinator of iDebate Rwanda. He and his team of five travel the United States to share skills of debate and the success story of Rwanda.
