On Tuesday morning, students attended the Honor Code Assembly in the Carter Athletic Center. The code is simple: “I will not lie. I will not cheat. I will not steal.” All students are expected to abide by the code.
Meagan Pruitt ’16 addressed the students and reminded them to avoid the temptation to break the code and use the new school year to their advantage. “This school year is a chance for all of you to leave behind old habits, and start anew. Be yourself, and when you are taking a quiz, answer the questions for yourself. Don't think about what your parents or your friends might think. And know that purposely failing or breaking the honor code does not make you a socially cooler individual, no matter what your friends might say.” she said.
Following her remarks, a representative from each grade signed the document that will hang outside Dr. Proctor’s office this year.
