Mr. Robert Robillard provided the following report from the Harvard Model UN event in Boston:
“We have three students who are serving on specialized committees, which demand almost constant speaking and action in small rooms with fewer than 20 people. Vincient Arnold ’16 is leading the government of Tunisia in 2011 after its revolution. The committee already experienced a crisis, and it is possible that they will have a call in the middle of the night to which they must respond. Jim Card ’16 is J. Robert Oppenheimer, so he has a formidable role on the Manhattan Project of 1943. Jack Fishwick ’16 is a reporter for the Irish Independent, and he took pictures for a story he is doing on the committee Dre Colston ’16 and Joseph Cartledge ’16 are working on dealing with the spread of atomic energy.
It is easy to be proud of this delegation of 24 students. They remind me why I love my job, and I know Nitza Plaski and Victor Lamas feel the same way. We were energized all the way to midnight by their passion for this simulation of world affairs. ”
