Girls Varsity Field Hockey
Candice Fisher (left) has been named head coach of the girls varsity field hockey team. Coach Fisher is a 2014 graduate of Roanoke College where she played on the field hockey team for four years. She was a goalkeeper, and was named captain in her last two seasons as a Maroon. Prior to attending Roanoke College, Coach Fisher attended Garrison High School in Owings Mills, Maryland where she led her team to the 2010 Field Hockey IAAM Conference Championship. She was a also a member of the Capitol Pegasus Club Field Hockey Team.
Boys Varsity Lacrosse
Chris Pollock (right) was promoted to head coach of the boys varsity lacrosse team. Coach Pollock has been a North Cross faculty member since 2001 serving as a Physical Education teacher and Upper School Sports Business teacher. He has also been an assistant coach for our boys varsity soccer and boys varsity lacrosse teams, and was the head coach of our middle school and JV lacrosse teams last season.
Coach Pollock was a three-time All-American (’88, ’89, ’90) at Roanoke College and was starting midfielder for four years. As a player, he was also First Team All-ODAC ('88-'90) and his Maroons were also three-time ODAC Lacrosse Champions and went to the NCAAs in 1986 and 1988. Coach Pollock was voted Captain in 1989 and 1990 and was inducted into the Roanoke College Hall of Fame in 1997.
Before coming to North Cross, Coach Pollock was the head coach of the Patrick Henry varsity lacrosse team and was also an assistant coach at Roanoke College. Pollock created the Excalibur Sports Club, a boys lacrosse club, in 2008.
