Student United Way would like to thank everyone in the Middle and Upper divisions for supporting the October “Jean and Krispy Kreme Day” on October 28. North Cross raised $925.55 for The United Way of the Roanoke Valley. In photo, Bruce Farrell ’17 (left) and Rebecca Benson ’17 (right) presented a check during their recent Student United Way meeting.
Bruce and Rebecca are serving a two-year term on the local Student United Way board. This group consists of representatives from many Roanoke county and city high schools, and local private schools. Each school was asked to plan a fundraiser. Throughout the year, the representatives will decide whether to donate the money to improve income, health, or education in the Roanoke Valley. They will evaluate agencies and determine which ones best fit the group’s criteria for funding.
The following academic awards for the 2014-15 academic year were presented on Monday, May 18, 2015 in Fishburn Auditorium. Congratulations to the recipients and inductees listed below.
