This year's Halloween Parade was a ton of fun—for both big and little kids alike. Thanks to all the families who came out to cheer on this creative bunch!
Senior buddies had lunch with their ECP charges outside on the Quad with their families. It was perfect weather for a fun and relaxing get together. Thanks to the Dining Hall Staff for making it all happen and to everyone who came out to share a blanket with a friend.
Among the many forms parents had to fill out at the beginning of the school year may have included the Extended Day paperwork necessary for us to retain our certification from the Department of Social Services (DSS). But retaining this status requires much more than paperwork. Recently DSS did an on-site review of the North Cross Extended Day program and we are happy to report we passed with flying colors, thanks in large part to Director Daryan Horner and Assistant Director Rhea Rupert and their dedicated and caring staff: William Langhorn, Hollie Martin, Emily Beard and Micah Giraudeau, with three substitutes on hand as numbers and absences require.
The McKinnon Memorial Garden, created in loving memory of Patrick and Logan (two Lower School students who were tragically lost to us in early spring) was dedicated on Thursday, August 18 in a small, private, ceremony. It was attended by the boys parents, Lindsay and Tom, and their godparents and grandmother. Headmaster Chris Proctor lead a small contingent of the North Cross community. The event was followed by a reception at the Proctor’s home to thank the many individuals who had made donations to the McKinnon Memorial Fund. The reception was planned by Ellie Proctor and BJ Preas, who was the spiritual and financial force that made all of this possible.
