My co-workers are very supportive and fun to work with and the parents are wonderful to work for! There is never a dull moment here!

I was working the lower school carpool the other morning, in the cold rain, when I noticed a mom that had pulled into a parking space rather than using the drop off service. Some of our younger children want their parents to walk them in, so I understand. What caught my attention, however, was that she stood in the parking lot with three children under the age of five, one hand holding her umbrella, with keys in her other hand while trying to open the rear hatch of her car to get backpacks. And her children were standing right next to middle school parents zooming by in their cars…in the rain. Ouch.
We work very hard at North Cross to create as safe a school environment as possible. We have a Risk Management Committee that works to identify areas of danger and means for reducing or eliminating that danger. We employ a color coded risk management system that identifies dangers as red (requiring immediate attention), yellow (important but can wait until later), or green (all is good).
