Big Flea Sale
Over 4,000 people visit the Carter Athletic Center for a day of bargains, and the proceeds benefit the school.
The Big Flea
The Big Flea, led this year by Community Outreach Coordinator and parent Alex Hash, is a major fundraiser for North Cross School and a community event for individuals throughout the Roanoke Valley.
Throughout the year, we partner with Virginia Varsity Transfer to collect and store donations of furniture, household items, clothing, sporting goods, and more—if you have a larger item that you would like to donate but are unable to transport, email or call Alex Hash at 540-915-4450 or firstname.lastname@example.org. On March 24, we will open the Carter Athletic Center from 7 am—1 pm for folks to shop our variety of donations at bargain prices. Items that are not purchased are donated to Goodwill, Turning Point, and Ronald McDonald House.
Over 4,000 people come to our campus each spring for the Big Flea Sale. Donations are tax-deductible and proceeds from the sale benefit North Cross School and the Parents’ Association.
Do you have items to donate?
During the school year, donations are solicited from families and friends of the school, including local businesses. Donations are tax-deductible and proceeds from the sale benefit North Cross School and the Parents’ Association. Please contact Alex Hash at 540-915-4450 if you wish to donate any of the following items:
Item drop off:
Items can be dropped off for donation from 3:00–4:00 on the first and third Mondays of each month. If you have a donation that is too large to transport (such as a sofa), contact Alex Hash at 540-915-4450 to arrange for a pickup.
This even is a long-standing tradition and one of our most popular of the year, but it takes many hands to pull it off without a hitch.
If you and your family would like to lend a hand throughout the year or on the day of the sale, please email email@example.com.
Volunteers who donate at least 6 hours of time prior to the sale enjoy special advance access to the sale!
