Every Family is Unique
At North Cross School, we look at many factors when assessing tuition for each family. For instance, income is only one of the financial variables we consider. In short, there’s no magic formula; each Tailored Tuition decision is unique.
To help you understand how a Tailored Tuition is determined, here are three examples of the types of prospective students who might apply for Tailored Tuition at North Cross School.

Student Accident Insurance
Student accident insurance is available for a flat annual fee of $50 to defray medical costs up to $1,000 due to accidental injury, on or off campus, from August-July each year. This supplemental policy is only an extension of, and is in no way a replacement to, a major medical plan. International students are required to purchase Student Accident Insurance in addition to their major medical plan.
The school and the Carter Athletic Center offer after-school programs in interscholastic athletics, music, and swimming. Some programs require additional fees, which vary.
Lemon Dining Hall offers a variety of healthy items daily, including two hot entrees, vegetables, a large salad bar, deli, and baked potato bar.
Extended Day Programs
North Cross School offers an Extended Day Program to meet the changing needs of parents. The Extended Day Program is not an extension of the academic program, but offers a variety of enrichment opportunities for younger children and supervised study periods for older children. Students in ECP through fifth grade are eligible to enroll in this program. The Program is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services.
Please note that no students in ECP through eighth grade are permitted on school grounds following the end of the class day. These students must be in a supervised or school-sponsored activity.
Tuition Refund Plan
The Tuition Refund Plan partially insures your annual financial obligation under the terms of the Enrollment Agreement. The School recommends that all parents consider it carefully. Participation in the Tuition Refund Plan is required for all new families unless tuition is paid in full by August 20. The premium rate of 2.9% of tuition will be billed.
An International Fee of $2,200 is required beyond tuition and includes estimated costs for lunches, textbooks, athletic travel, science and art lab fees, and background checks (student/host family). Charges incurred beyond the fee will be billed separately.
International students are also required to purchase Student Accident Insurance in addition to their major medical plan.
English Language Support (ELS) is available through a private tutor and may be required as a condition of initial enrollment or to maintain an acceptable academic standard. ELS tutor fees range from $40/hour (group sessions) to $80/hour (individual sessions).
